Jigsaw Puzzle

“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.”

Jeremiah 1:5

“It fits perfectly!”

How many times have we been through such situations where our plans have been an utter failure but we have felt the peace of things having turned out to its best? How many times has the work paper we thought we messed up at work somehow become okay/not as bad as we thought or, the times we miraculously cleared the exam we thought we would fail, the job interview of our dream we let slip away from our hand or, the loss of a loved one we prayed for so much, maybe our favourite team losing the football match this season. Well, we don’t really have a textbook answer for all this but all we know is that “In all things God works for the good of those who love him,who have been called according to His purpose.”

He is the mastermind, the head architect of our beautifully intricate lives. I can personally vouch for the peace that He has filled me with along with the “perfect fit in the puzzle” kind of feeling. It is indeed a beautiful feeling when we follow His word and look back at our lives through the paths that He has brought us through, and find that it all indeed fits so perfectly.

Spirit of the Living God
Fall afresh on me.
Melt me, mould me, fill me and use me.
Spirit of the Living God
Fall afresh on me.

Calls in Life

“You have made known to me the path of life, you will fill me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand.”

-Psalm 16:11

In the bible we see the story of many people who were called by faith. Abraham had a call to ministry in his life, Lot had a “no-questions-to-be-asked” call of exit by blind faith, and the story goes on about others who have left their homes and loved ones on this blind faith.

Nowadays, we get to decide whether we want to answer the calls we get in life (phone calls to be precise), all thanks to smartphones. But sometimes I wish I knew what the other person was going to say so I could be prepared for the worst, ironically I do wish I had a blueprint of my life just to know at least whether I should carry winter or summer clothes along for the journey. Then again I wouldn’t actually be surprised by the immense joy I get when He puts into me through various situations. His beautifully intricate yet foolproof plans never cease to surprise me.

God paves our path through the people we meet, the places we very randomly visit, the days we wake up to thinking it’s just a normal day but end up witnessing the birth of a loved one, first job, anniversaries, losing a loved one… At times the smallest of small things touch our hearts and end up being significant milestones. Even a random ‘Hi’ might end up being a lifeline sent by God.

We do not know what today holds, we really have no clue of what tomorrow is going to surprise us with, but all we that we know is He knows us better than we know ourselves. He has paved a path for us even before we knew that we were meant to move by a dot on the map.

Lord, as I begin my day today help me to be a helping hand, a lifeline to the people you have sent to me, I submit them into your mighty hands, Lord help me to share the peace and love that you have given me. Amen.

Season of NO’s.

Psalm 37:23- “ If the Lord delights in a man’s way, he makes his steps firm.”

Loose soil on the way of our journey at times require us to wait a bit for the sun to come up and harden the paths making it easier for us to walk. At times our foot goes deep into the ground and we might feel stuck but God has a purpose for even the slightest change in the life of His children.

Baking, I feel, is one of the highly rewarding joys of life in the area of hobbies. It requires immense amount of patience from the beginning till the very end. Rewarding, by the way of the free aroma that fills our house and if successful with the ingredients and the time then, the baked goods are up for grabs.

It’s super hard most of the times to LET GO and LET GOD take control of our lives cause we mostly don’t have answers as to why certain things happen in a certain way. We may not really know the right amount of salt to be added to make the dish to our liking but He exactly knows our tastes and what we want.

At times all that we have to do is turn our phones off (nope, it is not very easy for me too) open the Bible and just read. It takes some time for us to identify His voice with all the surrounding noises in our lives.

Lord, help me to know your good and perfect will in my life, help me to take all me NO’s as stepping stones in my life and use them for your glory. Amen

Era of Google Maps

Commit your way to the Lord; trust in him and he will do this.

– Psalm 37:5

I had a senior at the old place where I worked, who used to send us two or three full pages of requests that scared us. Initially when we saw his name in our mail box, we would think to ourselves that our day is fully set to understanding his request. Pretty soon we realized he was just beating around the bush and most of the time, all that he wanted us to do was as simple as putting a dot on a paper.

At times I have realized that we as humans and God’s children tend to complicate things as simple as drawing a straight line. All we need to ask for God to give us the grace to live each day. Committing our lives could be as simple as asking God to help us put the right spices while cooking or asking Him to accompany us on our visit to the supermarket to help us reduce our impulsive purchases. I always ask God to help me while booking tickets too. Sometimes it gets as simple as that.

One of my Sunday school teachers taught me this thing that I always kept telling myself –

Let Go and Let GOD.

Lord, help me to do what you want me to do. Amen.
